Image of the Aviation Building, originally published in the 1947 Panther Yearbook. The Aviation Building was built in the early 1940's at the Little Rock Municipal Airport (Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport) to support the Aviation vocational courses at Philander Smith College. The "Department of Terminal and Quasi-Vocational Courses" worked in conjunction with the Central Flying School and offered courses in Ground Instruction, Flight Instruction, Secondary Flight Training and Cross Country Flight Training. Students that completed the course requirements were eligible for to apply for a Pilot's License and they earned "6 semester hours of college credit" (PSC Catalog, 1947-48).
